I've come to the conclusion that answers in this thread will be biased towards a lot of people saying this is their number 1 forum, plain and simply because those that don't post here regularly enough or aren't regular forum goers will probably not see or bother posting in this thread :P

But at least this has actually shown me who around here are frequent posters... From memory, I can definitely remember Bakadeshi, bum, LenWidleheyt, godix and quite a few of the mods/big names. It's only in recent times for me that I've found a nice little nook for me to cramp myself in around here...

I suppose I can call this my #1 forum for the simple reason this is the ONLY forum I actually visit on my days off. Any other forum I bother with is a "I'm bored but since I'm at work I can't watch porno. I guess I'll go laugh at the horribly wrong legal advise on slashdot" type of thing.

Oh crap. When people start to remember me that usually means I'm being too much of an asshole and am about to be banned.

OH NOSTALGIA, OH EXPLOITABLE

Post by Tab. » Fri Jun 24, 2005 3:58 am

A LONG LONG time ago, this was my favorite community. I was a daily poster here from... oh, about July 2002 until last August (yes, my join date is May '03. See RadicalEd0 to fill in the missing pieces). So yes, I would say that at one time this was my #1 board. During the same timespan I also visited Doom9 similarly frequently, but for a different purpose. I came here for the community. I went to Doom9 for the information.

I've since relocated my "community" to the absurd place of off the interweb. Nowadays, I just frequent Slashdot for info and 4chan for funny. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I'M DOING HERE RIGHT NOW HONESTLY, LOL.

Just face it Tab, you're a legend :o

The fallout from the OT demise was quite something. Although technically most of the top posters on the forums are good old OTers, many of them have been pretty much inactive for the last year and a half. There's only a small core of OTers really left now, and the main element of the .org forum demographic is already a new, post-OT crowd.

Ah well, they're ok too

Not enough of a legend to avoid getting banned from #AMV on my first night back in months, for posting "www.a girl with pretty eyes.com <- click here". Apparently, a girl with pretty eyes is against the chat rules. That's... like... breaking tradition! Back when we were running a real chat around here, EVERY conversation began with a girl with pretty eyes, and if you didn't like it, you could leave. I don't know what's become of this place. Banning a girl with pretty eyes... absurd.

That B&ing rubbed me the wrong way. People just don't give a fuck around here like they used to. It's depressing. But I suppose when OT died and the chats were divided, we did lose a lot of the sense of community, with the site being reduced to "serious business".
OT, WOT, when was that? I don't even remember. Fall '03? That sounds right...

Since English's not my first language, this is not my absolutely first forum, but I have to say that is the one where I surf more, and where I can always find what I'm searching for, at least is the 2nd Forum for me =P

I can't say this is my main forum for two reasons. The first is that the .Org forums as a whole a really, really slow. At least, they are to somebody who comes from the GameFAQs social forums, where if your topic don't get a reply in an hour, your topic is just about lost. The second reason is, well, I already kind of mentioned it: There are no purely "social" forums. No place to just hang and ask each other what's up and whatnot. This is probably why I'm much more active in the IRC channel in comparison to here.

I come here to bitch and pretend to be Shinji. And I talk about RahXephon when I'm in the mood to watch people flame/argue.

Naw, G-faqs is my main phorum. This place is probably 3rd, behind pointlesswasteoftime.com.

Used to be, but now it's near the end of list since I don't do AMV very much these days.

Has the old Phorum been archived yet?
