Free FTP Program?

Post by Shaira » Sun Apr 03, 2005 11:51 pm

Hi Hi )

I remember reading about the FTP program suggested around here some where and I recently formatted and now I can not remember where it was posted! Anyone who can point me in the right direction I would be grateful.

Thank You )

Well, most all operating systems with a CLI have an FTP utility, which is all you really need. Otherwise, I find SmartFTP pretty useful.

It should also be noted that just about every modern graphical environment will let you type "ftp://user:password@host" into a file manager of some sorts, thus providing a graphical FTP interface.

The Mac OS Finder, Windows Explorer, Konqueror, and GNOME's Nautilus handle this just fine.
