now that amv has a quick search, if someone who knows something about coding could write a mozilla search plugin for the org, that would be quite spiffy.

Spiffy, and almost useless. I don't think we really need an Even Quicker Search.

I don't know, I think it would be nice. The real question is whether a usable API exists.

If it could be multi-functioned it might be even better - For example, a plugin that makes a little announcement every time a new video is uploaded. You could even *gasp* filter the plugin by creator, and thus create fan management!

For the first, we have an RSS feed. That works just fine. For the latter... let's just say a lot of things fall under 'fan management'.

Using the rss feeds + Thunderbird I've managed to create mail filters to do this already until the org has it's own system.

As for the browser plugin, all it needs to do is generate a link like:

I'm wondering how many things we can ask for to make things simpler and easier for us before we start becoming lazy bums who just want people to code tools wich remove the need for a few more brain cells to be functional.
