Possible problem?
I am thinking in doing a second video in collaboration with Michele and my idea was to do a video similiar to "Greed VS Envy", but with a our original anime, it should be our second video together, but thinking about I had a doubt, a video like this would been took as something copied? Even if the anime will be completely original? Maybe the thing that the concept is inspired to that particular video will make all think this video as copied and without originality?
My first amv : Lacrime of metal
My last creation with my boyfriend : Darkness over light, The other side of me
My second amv :Naruto's Reason

First off, this should be in General AMV or AMV Suggestions.
Second:
No one seems to care that AtomX's <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... 39160">Why Can't I?</a> incorporates drawn stills in a manner quite similar to that of Big Big Truck's <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... 65">Failed Experiments in Video Editing</a>.
Ryoushitsu Anime's <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... 2926">Soul of an Angel</a> is still a great video despite the fact that the creator claimed to have been inspired by <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... 1">Ermac's video</a> (and the scores back it up).
No one seems to fault my own <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... >Alternate Eva Opening</a> for being a shameless copy of the Cowboy Bebop opener.
And no one seems to care that Hurqlez's <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... ithless</a> got its concept and swiped scenes from other videos.
In short, make what you want to make, and to hell with what other people might think about originality. YOU'd know it wasn't copied.
Third: Why can't you just use your Hinatasan name on the fora?

Okay, you shouldn't really even consider this as a "failing in originality" in the sense that the OP is insinuating for two reasons:Scintilla wrote:No one seems to fault my own <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... >Alternate Eva Opening</a> for being a shameless copy of the Cowboy Bebop opener.
1. That video takes a totally different spin on the opening. It recreates (and parodies) all visuals and audio from the opening to create a different product. Compare this to SNL or Monty Python. I would consider a parody an original work devoted to insulting or lightly poking fun at a different original work, not a copy.
2. Eva Bebop expressly rips off the opening to Cowboy Bebop. From what I gather, the OP is worried about percieved copying, not explicit copying.
To further answer the question asked: Most people only look at anime and song to grade originality; they don't even consider the idea. You're probably safe from bad scores if it is original anime, and I'm sure you'd make a good impression with it, probably enough so that if you did recieve a bad score for originality the other scores could cover it. Also, the people that do consider the idea in thier opinion often will consider impression as well, at least in my experience. If they can sit through it without being bored, it most likely will get a higher originality score because it doesn't give off that "been there, done that" feel.
