how-to private message

I hope this isn't anywhere else on the site..I looked around for it, but I don't see a how-to guide on private messages. I know how to send them, but how do I know if I recieve one? Or that the person even got the pm in the 1st place?

1) You receive one when someone sends you one. Simple enough. Look at the top of the forum page: there, between "Profile" and "Log out", is the Private Message section. If you have any PMs unread, it will say "X new Private Messages". It's also possible to turn on email alerts in your profile.

2) If you send it, they will receive it. There's no guarantee they will read it, but as long as it's unread it will be in your sentbox. When they read it, it goes to your outbox.

I suspect there's no "How to PM" guide because people consider it sufficiently simple and self-explanatory that it doesn't need one.

It's actually the other way around. But you get a 'B' for effort.

In my defense, I rarely use the PM system and was too lazy to actually check.

Thanks for the tips. Does anyone have any tips on how to contact a member is they have no listed email and don't check their pms?

Um, I guess you could try a Google search for their username and see if anything pops up. If they have any videos listed, you could op one of them and tell them to contact you.

Other than that, there really are no other ways on this site.
