No sound while playing amv

Post by SniperWolf2183 » Sat Aug 28, 2004 10:48 pm

I have downloaded several amvs. I can play them fine on both Real Player and Windows Media Player. But I can't hear any sound. I'm pretty sure the mute function is off because I can play my music. My OS is Windows 98 and both versions of Real Player and Windows Media Player are the newest versions. Any suggestions would be hot.

New Problem

Post by SniperWolf2183 » Wed Sep 15, 2004 10:58 pm

I have a new problem. When I tried to download media player clasic I am taken to a website called sorceforge.net. I'm told to choose a mirror for file /guliverkli/mpc98me6482.zip. When I do, the file starts downloading to my computer. When it's finished downloading, I saved it on my desktop. When I try to open the file, it won't open. Did I miss something? Please help.

First of all make sure you are getting the right file for your operating system... if you are on windows xp, then you want the file with 2kxp in the filename, not with one with 98me

Do you have a zip compression program? If not then you have more stuff to download...

Thanks Farlo! I'm glad that I was at least downloading the right file. Now to answer Carron's question. I don't believe I have a zip compression program. Can you make any recomendations to where I can download? Thank You

I've finally got it!

Post by SniperWolf2183 » Sun Nov 21, 2004 9:09 pm

:D I've finally figured out the problem. The reason I did not have sound is because I had to set my playback and recording perferred devices! Originally, it was set at "use any available device". However, that caused more of a problem in the long run. Now that I've fixed it, I can watch any music video I want without any problems! If you have a similar problem, first go to "Settings" in the start menu and click "Control Panel". Next, you need to find an icon called "Multimedia". By clicking on this you will be taken to the multimedia properties pallete. You should already be in the audio section. This is the important part. In the audio section you will find something called "Playback" and "Recording". Make sure that they both do not say "use any available device". If they do, switch them to the correct devices. This should clear up some problems. Nuff said!
