Won't download the right file??

I'm sure there's a topic somewhere here that answers my question, but sorry...i'm just too lazy lol.

I tried to dl an AMV, and it said wait 10 seconds for the dl to start. So I did, and I downloaded it...but something's wrong...

It wasn't the AMV that I dl'ed, it was some program called "downloadlocal.php"

I was like wtf?? So I opened it, and for some reason my comp opened it in Print Shop...and of course it didn't open the file...

so...what's wrong!?

General rule of thumb:
When you can not address the problem on your own accord, you should always take this route. Site FAQ, Site Help (search previous topics for equivalent situation), Post in Site Help about your problem only if you've exhausted each preceding item.

That is what you should start from. Laziness is not an excuse. Gomennasai. If that section doesn't solve it, search this specific forum under search. This is commonly encountered, no doubt this problem has been discussed before at length, regardless of any obscure factors causing your DL not to work, previous threads is all you'll probably need.

1. don't right click and click "save as..." for local links, just left-click the link
2. disable dl accelerators
3. clear your cookies + temporary internet files cache

you can't use this current search engine:
I wrote "this question" in May of 2000 under the handle - merlins_magic and
the search engine couldn't even find my old handle ( let alone the question!! )

this has nothing to do with the site itself!
. If you contune to have this problem, get in touch with whoever installed
that program into your computer without "your permission."

this problem is not the fault of any programming on this site
