2-week waiting period [SPLIT]

hi everyone.
*sweatdrop* uhh im new her and well i have a question. how come i'm not aloud to see videos for 2 weeks. Like i read everything. But i just don't understand why... Thanks

You wouldn't believe how many times people have been asking this exact same question on the forums.

First of all, let me once again reiterate that this only applies to locally hosted videos. There's no restriction on downloading videos that have direct or indirect links, so go crazy.

Now that that's said: According to AbsoluteDestiny, if we didn't have the two-week waiting period, the site would have a serious bandwidth problem in no time flat.

You can always get around it by donating, you know.

Oh yeah, two more things:

1) This shouldn't be in a thread (about search tools) that has nothing to do with it.

2) When I joined up, there was no local hosting at all... and that was only a year and a half ago. I think that part of the reason for the two-week waiting period is for to instill in newbies a proper sense of gratitude for just how good they have it.
