Why not make stickies in this forum for the repeating topics of "Will there be an off topic section?", "Can we get Edit buttons?", and "Can we have bigger avatar/sig?" topics. It would cut down on the need for these topics to arise again and again, and grant the mods a true right to automatically delete these as they come up. Alright, now for me to counterpoint the arguments you're probably about to make:
1) People ignore stickies, so it wouldn't make a difference!
When their topics are shut down, they could be gently guided to the stickies, therefore not only forcing them to take their argument to the stickies, but hopefully teaching them the semi-importance of actually paying attention to the stickies in the first place. Ooh, then they would even learn to be better forumites! Neat, huh?
2) ... ... ...actually, I couldn't think of any other arguments besides that, it's almost 4:00 in the morning here. @_@
Anyways, mods, taking my suggestion into account and acting upon it can only help the community, and will in no foreseable(sp?) way harm it. Therefore, it is your civic duty as good and just mods to create these stickies! Thank you and goodnight!
Stickies for Site Suggestion? A good idea!?

Yea, but think that would be encouraging pointless whining. It's like giving these usual topics a special status
Rather, I'd make a sticky about NOT posting these subjects anymore, and lock every thread that comes up about them

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Can we just NOT answer them, let the posters actually figure out on their own (even though it may lead to a long string of complaints).Otohiko wrote:Yea, but think that would be encouraging pointless whining. It's like giving these usual topics a special status![]()

Maybe there should be a 'Rejected Site Suggestions' sticky and have a note of some sort telling newbies to read it before they make new suggestions. The post would just have all the dumbass suggestions (Getting rid of the 2-week wait, pointless subforums, etc) and reasons as to why they've been thoroughly rejected.
