Monthy .org AMV contests?

what about monthy, or bi-monthy contests to pit the skill of the artists here againt one another on a world scale? have a pole of somthing in a new forum topic created just for this idea controlled by the admins(the poll that is) and the people can vote on maybe 5-10 topics/ideas/themes for each contest, or the admins can decide on there own and supprise everyone with is at the start of each event. there wouldent be meterial prizes, but braging rights are always good to have, and this isent just I beat everyone from my state, this would be I beat everyone on the internet!!!! just an idea, Im sure people might have thought of this before (but I looked around the forum first to make sure this isent a troll idea, and I couldent find that is was), but if people like it, lets see if we can get it going, might be alot of fun for people who cant ever make it to cons or just really love making AMV's.

Ummm, you do know the site already does a contest don't you? It's once a year instead of monthly but I prefer that. If the contest happened to quickly it'd quickly be reduced to 'oh, yet another one? Whee.' and while there are some great videos coming out I gotta wonder if there's enough coming out to hold a monthly contest. I suspect the contest would also be reduced to 'none of the choices is good enough to deserve winning'. Kinda like the US Presidential elections actually.

check the amv contest forum. there's usually at least one new online contest every month.

a monthly org contest, as godix mentioned, would kill the glamour of winning, and put the pressure on those who do not (if you are familiar with the Simpsons, the episode where Homer loses out on Employee of the Week to a green inanimate rod demonstrates what i'm saying)

ya know mabey we can change the yearly vca's into a one in 10 years thing, i mean, if thiers glamour in winning a 1 year contest, mabey with a 10 year contest the winner gets to take the golden donut home
