If I were you, I'd stick with Win98. I found it the best Win OS over all (98 Second Edition).Baku Ryu-Ha wrote:Ok. Im going to start saving for Windows XP. Thanx to everyone who helped me! ^_^
Ofcorse its getting to the point where Win XP is required. Solution? Use both.
Anyway, I don't think you are computer literate enought to even need 98 back up. So go blindly into the new realms of endless tooltips and "friendly" interface.
Another note. XP on your machine will be slower than what you have now. Save for a new computer with XP already installed. I recomend E-Machines because its not Dell.

You're kidding, right? I've found WinXP to be a LOT more stable than 98...Nekoboy Sal wrote:If I were you, I'd stick with Win98. I found it the best Win OS over all (98 Second Edition).Baku Ryu-Ha wrote:Ok. Im going to start saving for Windows XP. Thanx to everyone who helped me! ^_^
YES!Nekoboy Sal wrote:Save for a new computer with XP already installed. I recomend E-Machines because its not Dell.
I remember reading somewhere that eMachines is the Hyundai of the computer world: once upon a time (1998-2000 or so) they made cheap machines that were of crappy quality, but nowadays they make genuine bargain solutions that are just as good as the more expensive Compaqs, etc.
I've had my eMachines T2080 for 2 years now, and never a complaint. It even came with 512 MB of RAM.
