well a month or so ago i had a duplicate video entry removed, but the video is still there, just not showing up in my profile/search. which is fine, but are those videos counted under the total video count? also wouldn't it be better for the database to remove the data not being accessed/used instead of just removing what links the video to a creator?

Not sure; they shouldn't be, but I'd have to check the code.Pwolf wrote:well a month or so ago i had a duplicate video entry removed, but the video is still there, just not showing up in my profile/search. which is fine, but are those videos counted under the total video count?
Actually, all that is changed is a flag. The extra few videos don't make for any significant amount of load on the db server, and this way if one gets deleted by mistake, we can undelete it.also wouldn't it be better for the database to remove the data not being accessed/used instead of just removing what links the video to a creator?

aye... i don't know how many people make the mistake and make a duplicate entry, i also don't know how much of a load the database puts on the server.derobert wrote:Not sure; they shouldn't be, but I'd have to check the code.Pwolf wrote:well a month or so ago i had a duplicate video entry removed, but the video is still there, just not showing up in my profile/search. which is fine, but are those videos counted under the total video count?Actually, all that is changed is a flag. but yea, the video is still there. I had used the link for the duplicate on my site and someone IM'd me asking me why it didn't have a local link... confused the shit out of me, until i compaired the vid id nimbers.
