Search query collaboration/standardization

Is it possible to make it so when someone enters a search query it converts the query to what the database uses? I had to go to Animenfo.com to find the alternative titles for Neia Under 7 before I could find the videos I was lookig for.

i.e.
such as
"Neia" or "Neia under 7" returns anime under the title "Neia_7"
"inuyasha" returns anime under the title "Inu Yasha"

Since there is already a similar method of collaborating anime titles at the entry of a video I figured that something like this would be rather easy to implement as compared to just starting from scratch...

Just another idea...
