FTP direct links

Post by Fluxmeister » Tue Feb 10, 2004 10:07 pm

Although tricking the site into adding my ftp links by first adding an indirect, then editing it to direct only to apply the edit 3-4 times... IS FUN...

I'd love for the ftp file verification to either be a bit more lax, or function as expected. :D
(I did a search on the todo list and "ftp" didn't show up)

On top of this, I've also noticed most of your direct downloads are "broken" according to the site check. The same happens with me every other day for some reason. I've talked to Phade about this, but maybe it's related.

Basically, what is up with the "last checked" function? I imagine that's the reason you're having issues as well. For me, usually half my vids will be "OK" and the other half "PROBLEM" and then vice versa the next. Perhaps my server can't take the 8 or 9 requests all in a row, but I don't think that'd be the case.

I was using BulletProof FTP server before, and phade said something about it causes it to not work correctly with the site. Maybe you are using this one too? I ended up trying like 20 different ftp servers, and eventually found myself back with Bulletproof. I now use Apache to serve up my amvs though, and its been working great.
