Challenge Forum

Post by Slayerwolf » Thu Aug 28, 2003 11:58 am

I tried to post this a while back but that was the fateful day when my computer almost died. Anway, I was thinking, why not add a challenge forum? This forum would be dedicated to creators challenging each others' skills. They set the criteria and even a deadline if they want. And then when they're done, they could post their links in the forum and let the rest of the site-goers decide the victor.

I'm not trying to flame your idea or anything, but that's basically done with every AMV that is created. People try to beat others and become number one. Some people like myself just want to be noticed, while others are more into competition.

I don't think you get what I'm saying. This would be a place where people call each other out. I did the same thing with Gene Starwind 21122. We each gave each other a song and anime to use and then judged each other's videos. When you make a video by yourself you're in a comfort zone. You picked the song and the anime so you know roughly what you will be able to do with it and how you are going to put it together before you even start working on it. When somebody else challenges you, you don't have that luxury so you have to work a bit harder at it. I realize what you mean about the whole top-of-the-mountain thing. What I want is a place where I can challenge somebody face to face and where everybody can see. Haven't you ever gotten an opinion that makes you just want to say, "Oh yeah, well I'd like to see you do better." That's what I mean. I don't really care about the masses. I want a dueling ground.

Actually, I thought of the same idea several months ago (maybe even over a year ago), and it was shot down brutally as soon as somebody challenged someone else to make a DBZ video to Linkin Park. Get my point? Having that sort of competition would definitely bring down the originality. It mainly only happens at conventions with the Iron Chef matches. People upload those "videos" just to show off that they were in the competition though, but would probably never actually want it reviewed critically.

I challenge you to make the most original Linkin Ball Z video known to man.

I've actually had a couple ideas for one, but I don't have the correct software (After Effects) to make the video. And IMO, it would definitely be one of the best Dragonball Z videos ever.
