Average Opinion Score = 5

Hey guys, I've been thinking about the average opinion score of 5 for the vidz here. I think it should be moved up to 7, cuz 5 seems like such a low number. Whenever I score, the numbers remind me of a grade at school or something. A 10 is, in my point of view, is a 100% or an A+... So 5 and 50% doesn't seem like an "average" score to me. A 7 is more of an average, since 70% is equivalent to a "C".

I'd cringe in my seat if someone thought my vid was average and just slapped 5's across the board.

I don't have any opinions though, so it doesn't really matter. I just thought that if people saw the "5 = average" in the Opinions pages, and decided to put that down, it could make the vid'z creator feel bad. The Reviewer would probably say,"Oh I just thought it was so-so... so I give u a five!"

Maybe the edjamuhcation system just got to me...

If 7 was "average", then all good videos would have roughly the same score. I mean, you wouldn't have much of a difference between slightly good vids like The Fanservice Video, and great vids like Euphoria. Though Euphoria is 500x better than The Fansevice video, this couldn't be accurately reflected in such a scoring system.

Zarxrax is on the right track. A lowered average allows for really good videos to stick out more than just "average" videos. If an "average" video is 7, what's the point of having scores 1-5? just to make bad videos look even worse?

Zarxrax and Phade are pretty much on the dot. I was kinda confused when I posted this topic.

Worrying over school grades, being deprived of sleep, and typin' up an essay in the morning can have weary side effects..
