Locked Studios?
I recently posted in the Opinions section of the forum linking to an older video. I noticed that when I posted the video it had the name of a studio I was in previously instead of my current one. I checked my page thinking I had mistakenly not changed my studio information, but I had. So I went into the video information to edit it, and I noticed that the studio was locked in there (I.E. no option to change it). Since the VidID tag updates based on the username, in that I used to be "-Reda-" and now choose to go by "Minus", why doesn't the studio update along with it?
This isn't that big of a deal, just a bug I happened to stumble on.

Re: Locked Studios?
Edit: To clarify, I feel that the video information should sample the studio name from the current one set by the user for their profile page, and not restrict them to the studio the editor was involved with at the time. This doesn't make much sense in the long run anyway, since if an editor wants their current studio known at the time of creating the video, they put it in a bumper for the video or something.

I'm unclear on what you're trying to say here, still.Minus wrote:Edit: To clarify, I feel that the video information should sample the studio name from the current one set by the user for their profile page, and not restrict them to the studio the editor was involved with at the time. Let's say I make Video A with the studio 1.
Then I make video B with studio 2.
I am now affiliated with studio 2 (on my profile page), but Video A's description still read studio 1.
Are you saying that by changing my profile's information to be studio 2, all videos should retroactively change to studio 2 as well?
If so, then that doesn't make sense to me. If I am currently in Studio 2, but made video A while I was with Studio 1, Video A should still reflect that I made it while I was in Studio 1. Because studio 2 was unaffiliated with Video A. So why change it?
But, in the case of if we should be able to change what is represented on the video info page after it was entered (Say I accidentally put in studio 1 for video B and only noticed weeks later) than we should be able to change it. But to my knowledge, we can do that.
Sorry if I'm misunderstanding you.

Yah matt, I agree with SQ on dis one. If you made a video while in a studio, it should always say that it was made in affiliation with that studio. Just kinda makes sense.

Yeah, I like it that way. For nostalgia's sake, at the very least. Although I guess it doesn't matter much to me since I only have one video that's in a different studio and it was just a joke...

Re: Locked Studios?
I release some videos as "Anal Experience Studio" instead of "Visual Experience Studio" and I wouldn't be able to do that if the studio was just updated with profile changes.
Also, this would only apply to solo vids anyway. Studio MEPs are related to the studio in which they were made; non-studio meps shouldn't have a studio selected, imho.
That said, rather than updating, I wouldn't be against a manual change of the studio for whatever reason.

No you got me, I guess I hadn't really thought of it that way. I just didn't know if it was some unintended thing or not and wanted to call some attention to it. Oh well though, good points were made here for why it is the way it is.SQ wrote:I'm unclear on what you're trying to say here, still.Minus wrote:Edit: To clarify, I feel that the video information should sample the studio name from the current one set by the user for their profile page, and not restrict them to the studio the editor was involved with at the time.
