I just now changed it to a less annoying color, but to answer your question you can't disable it.

I'd welcome some blue to go with the board look ^^

Also, it would be quite good if it wasn't visible when actually reading the topic (still being there when posting an answer, though), though that's a minor issue (and I am not even sure whether possible), since I think in a month or two it'll be lot less heavy on brain :<
