I've judged a lot of contests and watched a ton of video for sorting into the Archive database and I have to agree with several people here that it's just not practical nor to I really see the point of real-time feedback. Most of any comments or feedback I provide is after watching the complete video from start to finish...
The only practical application I can possible see is if you could stop a video at a point to type a comment (i.e. stop at 2:50 and insert comment about the transition duration) and then the program would compile the comments with the time markers into a summary.. However this I would do only after fully watching the video once through...
Besides, most people want to just provide some simple feedback in a few sentences ro short paragraph and not have to deal with a lot of input or program navigation

Thread revival!
I just wanted to say that I'm currently researching nico nico douga for a school project, and it just suddenly hit me that a realtime comment system similar to nico nico douga would be freaking AWESOME for providing feedback on amvs...
This whole thing with numbers and ups and downs and crap... it just seems so complex. Imagine watching a video and then you see some crappy rotoscope, and you just write "that roto sux" right then and there. It would also consolidate all feedback from multiple people into one place, which could be really helpful if you have a lot of people beta your amv.
