That you want to leave an opinion on a video you couldn't have downloaded and watched?Scintilla wrote:Tell me what's wrong with this picture.

This was one of the points of putting the op blocker on there. The real bug is the ability to dowload from a direct or indirect link and not being able to leave an op.

That that person apparently has the same video listed twice in their profile under a barely different name?godix wrote:That you want to leave an opinion on a video you couldn't have downloaded and watched?Scintilla wrote:Tell me what's wrong with this picture.

You're forgetting about conventions, file-sharing utilites, friends with CDs, etc.godix wrote:That you want to leave an opinion on a video you couldn't have downloaded and watched?Scintilla wrote:Tell me what's wrong with this picture.

Ah, but see, nothing's stopping me from leaving an op on <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... ?v=87">one of Maboroshi's videos</a> that was never released for download, or <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... 6993">this Evanescence video that I saw at AnimeNEXT 2004</a> but didn't download (or, for that matter, my *own* Evanescence video).BasharOfTheAges wrote:This was one of the points of putting the op blocker on there.
With MOST videos that have no links, you can leave ops fine. That's why I'm reporting this particular one as a bug.

Whenever somebody puts up a in/direct link, why not have it redirect to a page or counter to detect that the button has been clicked, and then take them where the original link points?Kalium wrote:No, it's not a bug at all. The real problem is the lack of any way to confirm that a download from a direct or (especially) indirect link <i>completes</i> successfully. You'll notice that a video you download from the Golden Donut won't show up on your list of videos with pending star ratings until the download actually finishes.Orwell wrote:Whenever somebody puts up a in/direct link, why not have it redirect to a page or counter to detect that the button has been clicked, and then take them where the original link points?Kalium wrote:No, it's not a bug at all. That trackability of download completion has always been the stated reason that star ratings are allowed for local links but not for direct/indirect.
And speaking of the Golden Donut, somebody might want to update the text at the bottom of <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... w.php">the Donation Stats page</a> to remove that "the Donut can be <b>easily achieved</b>" part, considering that it's BEEN achieved already for over 3.5 years now.
