effects on Premiere 6.5

Post by Tru_Blu » Wed Oct 25, 2006 4:43 pm

Hello.
I'm using Adobe Premiere 6.5 with After Effects but I don't know the utility of the all video effects yet. I'd like someone to help me finding a cool effect which combined with the sound of drums on a music. Thanks*

How about just plain cuts in the video?

Lens flare. Try using lens flare. But be careful, a common newbie mistake is to make the lens flare go away after the drum hit. Don't do that. Instead put up a new lens flare for each drum beat and keep it up the entire video. It gives an additive effect to the video. Trust me, the results would be talked about for quite some time.

i may just have to do that in my next video... your brilliant..

as for effects to use to match drums... theres a LOT of differenet things you can use.. if we TELL you which effects to use, then your not being original enough... but i will tell you what i have seen... and you can take what you like...

some videos have the screen zooming in and out on the drum beats, this can be annoying but can be effective if done right... Radial Zooms (radial blur changing the settings) can be semi useful.. random effects... blurs... lensflares.. clips... new videos piled on top of eachother *like stacking one video on another...* hell you can do ANYTHING with the video, just try to be originl about it.

Why do people always want to start running (adding effects) before they even know how to walk (edit) properly?

Even the most flashiest effects laden After Effects project starts out as a basic straight cut video (mostly).
Having trouble playing back videos? I recommend: Image
