The best program to make amv

Post by riceballz » Fri Nov 11, 2005 7:22 pm

Well since im new here. "hi all" 8-)

I want to know who uses windows media player to make anime-music-videos's because I do, but I believe there’s a better way to make them. Does anyone know a better program I can buy to make them or is windows media player just the best.

(God I hope not)

there is no "best" but there are programs that can do "more" then WMM...

adobe premiere
sony vegas
ulead
magix

just to name a few. Magix is the cheapest of the 4 and is by far the best for it's price ($50).

I just saw Vegas at Best Buy for $60, and you can try it out via a free DL from their site. I personally use Premiere, but for the price, Vegas puts out some sweet results.

If you want to check out free programs that are available, you can always check here: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/v ... hp?t=46136

Also read the comments that editors write about their videos. Hopefully they will list what editing software they use, and you can get a feel for what can be done with what programs.

You can get a trial version of honestech. It lasts for a year. It has some good features on it. My advice is make the video on that and then combine the song on WMM. The sound output quality on honesteach is rather horrible.

The video editor is called Honestech Video Editor 7.0

$60? might be a dumb-downed version like Premiere Elements...

thats probably Vegas Movie Studio + DVD. don't know how different that is from the full version (which is like $400-$500).

Most people will tell you that there is no "best program". I'd suggest getting trials of a bunch of different programs and see what works best for you.
also, this should be in the Video Software Help/General Video forums.

Again, I have to agree with most of the folks here. It all comes down to personal preference. Try out a few trial programs and see which one fits you best. I use Premiere 6 and it's steady for me because I can see what I'm doing quite well, plus that's what I started linear editing on. So the best method I would advise would be to look around and decide what you like.

Yeah. It was. Like Best Buy would stock the higher-end stuff. (Was there looking in hopes of finding something cool, but I didn't, so I bought something useless to make the trip seem worthwhile....)
