Begginer AMV software...

Post by jak sacul » Sat Sep 10, 2005 3:05 pm

I have only recently been experimenting with making my own AMVs and have been getting thouroughly interested. I was wondering if any of you veterans had advice as to what software/hardware I need to aquire in order to make high-quality AMVs. I have only used iter-video Win DVD so far, and I'd like a reccomendation to a better program. :)

I use Adobe Premiere 6.5 , it was the thing i used for all my AMV's so far, i think that its put together the best and tis easy to just pick up and learn, dont look at my AMV's and think the progarm sucks tho cause im someone that rushed though my first 4 or 5 AMV's just to test out the progarm lol. But there is also Vegas 5 which i just got but i cant figure it out since my videos wont load onto it cause there DivX form....but my friend uses Vegas 5 , and he says that its REALLY easy to use.

Adobe Premiere- LIke 150-200?
Vegas-Dont know price
Windows Movie Maker (never used but its free , came with ur puter)

Try the Software List sticky, found at the top of this board. :?

And by the way, jkgohan, Adobe Premiere Pro retails for more like $600-700, and Vegas 6 is probably comparable in price; Premiere Elements is around $100, but it's rather stripped down.

and time again to raise the awareness of this program:
Magix Movie Edit Pro - 10

cheap, easy to use, exports to a crapload of file formats and has 16 tracks for editing. All this for under $60...

Imagination and a brain.

You can have all the computer power in the world and still fail to produce anything of note; likewise, you can have relatively modest tools and still create entertaining videos.

The editor is far more important than the tools. Keep that in mind.

It really is more about the creator than the tools.

Movie Maker seems to be popular(although I never used it) and it's free.

Ulead Video Studio is a pretty good program for a novice.

I wouldn't suggest getting Premiere. Mostly because it's really hard to learn how to use on your own and it is obscenely expensive. I use Ulead Media Studio(don't remind me of how much it costs) which is also better suited for a veteran.
