Doesn't it come with a help manual or some tutorials or something?

How to use any piece of software ever released:

1. Install the software and poke around in the options until you realize you have no idea what the Hell you are doing.

2. Call up tech support and belligerently accost the person on the other end of the phone, because obviously he/she doesn't understand what you're talking about. Eventually, he/she will hang up.

3. Post on message boards demanding help because, obviously, if you di that people will help you. Some assholes will post sarcastic responses.

4. Give up, because you didn't really care about that particular piece of software anyway.

5. Identify and locate another piece of software designed to perform the same task, or that performs a different task you believe you want to perform; go to step 1.
"If someone feels the need to 'express' himself or herself with a huge graphical 'singature' that has nothing to do with anything, that person should reevaluate his or her reasons for needing said form of expression, possibly with the help of a licensed mental health practitioner."

DVDLab Pro is intended for a somewhat more, well, educated user than average- it does not include an encoder with which to convert between .avi and the MPEG2 format that DVDs use, it's assumed that you have a program with which to do that already (though they do sell a bundle with it and TMPGEnc the last time I looked). You will need to convert your avi to an MPEG2 before DVDLab can do anything with it at minimum. The help for DVDLab was (again, the last time I checked) rather good, so you might try looking through it for general help on using the program. Whether DVDLab Pro is the best tool for you to be using would depend on exactly how complex of a DVD you want to make- it's intended to be able to make nearly commercial-level complexity DVDs, and if you're just wanting to make a DVD to send in to a con or show other people without needing fancy menu navigation or player state programming, something a bit simpler might be a better choice.
