I need help (again)

Post by hikari_yami » Sun Feb 06, 2005 11:46 am

I tried to run a script in AVI Synth but it keeps bringing up

AVI Import Filter error: (Unknown) (8004054)

Could someone please tell me what's wrong? :?

Posting script

Post by hikari_yami » Sun Feb 06, 2005 3:42 pm

LoadPlugin("C:\Program Files\AviSynth2.5\plugins\MPEG2Dec3.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\Program Files\AviSynth2.5\plugins\Decomb521.dll")
MPEG2Source("d:/kenshin-1.d2v")

My troubleshooting has come to naught :?

Shouldn't that be D:<b>\</b>kenshin-1.d2v?

How are you creating you .d2v file. If you are using DGIndex to create the .d2v file then it should also create a starter script for you. This is placed within the same folder as your .d2v file. Seeing the "LoadPlugin" command makes me think you may have wrote the script yourself. If you are using a version of DVD2AVI to create you .d2v files then this is your problem. You must use DGIndex which come with AMVapp.

You don't have to use DGIndex if you don't want to (I still don't, out of sheer laziness), but you have to have the right version of mpeg2dec then, which might be another issue. If it's not the right version of mpeg2dec for your DVD2AVI program, it won't work. If it's not the right version of mpeg2dec for your Avisynth version (which is what I'm betting on due to the error) then it also won't work.

I was under the impression that "Avisyth 2.5" did not work with the original (versions) of the DVD2AVI program. If what your saying is correct, then perhaps this is not true in all situations. :?

I'm using:

DVD2AVI 1.76
AVISynth 2.5.5
MPEG2Dec3DG.dll

and it works fine for me.

Scintilla, do you think I should go back to DVD2AVI? DGIndex is good, but for some reason it seems to have less options than DVD2AVI (if you remember the post where you told me about some of the DVD2AVI menu options that I mentioned I didn't see in DGIndex).
