AE Help

Post by ChronoWraith » Thu Jan 27, 2005 5:10 pm

Ok, so i am playing around with after effects an thinking "wow this is fun and cool, lets try to make a small video using pictures and sound."

now here is where i found a problem. I have a 100% legit copy so I know it isn't a crack or something fucking this up. When i play a preview i don't get sound. but the sound preview works fine. how am I supposed to coordinate what is going on if I can't hear anything whilst editing? do I not have it set up right?

Do you realize that you just completely and utterly contradicted yourself?

no i didn't, I meant that when I did a normal preview it doesn't play any sound, but when i do a Sound Preview(which is sound only) it plays the sound. i was not contradicting myself, they are 2 different previews. I am using 6.5... maybe i messed something up somewhere...

Do you have the audio button enabled in the preview window?

Sounds like something is screwed up.

Is the audio uncompressed?

Well I'm still trying to get a good handle on "AE" myself, so this may or may not help. In After Effects 5.5 within the "Time Controls" window there are two separate buttons "Play/Pause and RAM Preview". I believe that RAM Preview is the only one that brings the audio along. I know that this is not the version of "AE" in question, but I thought it might help.
