k, i think i figured it out. i found the compression thing on virtual dib, and used mpeg4 codec. its makign the file right now, and it looks likemits gonna be arount 350-400 megs. that gonna be good enough?

they are not stupid questions, someday you will be replying to someone's same question...and you'll feel a funny possibly erotic feeling inside when they say 'thanks, it worked'

once you have the file open in virtual dub, look at the top, click on 'video' and then choose compression (video>compression>choose codec) or you could just press control +p to get to the compression box...from there it is recommended to choose the huffy codec like sir zarxrax said....and you should end up with a much smaller file...although still relatively large when compared to other forms of compression, but still...much better than uncompressed and with no quality loss

mpeg4 is not recommended for editing good sir...huffy will make it much easier and you will not loose that awesome sweet orgasmic dvd quality

making it with huffy now. looks like its gonna be a huge file again. o well. at least i won't end up with a 50 gig file.
whats processing thread priority for? its set on normal right now

it just basically means how much of your cpu's power you want to dedicate to the encoding process...if you set it at the lowest, it will take longer of course, but will allow you to still do other stuff on your pc with no lag...and vice versa

I tried playign the avi. it shows the first frame with the top half of it looking all messed up.
then i get an error (without any details on why media player won't play it).
so it's not playing. should i try again with lagarith?

i downgraded to huffy 2.1.1 cause i read that the version i was using had some bugs.
trying again now...

Yes, Huffyuv 2.2 doesnt work.

You couldnt find lagarith? Its the very first result when you google for "lagarith". http://lags.leetcode.net/codec.html

Also, have you read through the guides? ( http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/ ... index.html ) Cause it sounds like maybe you haven't.
