dvd playback

Post by Orwell » Tue Aug 31, 2004 2:49 am

does anyone know of a good dvd codec? i have found one, elecard, but then i cant get mpegs to play properly, and its a long deep spiral of problem after problem that i just dont want to fight. i use interactual player, and i refuse to switch, it was fine until i reformatted. i couldnt find any answers to this short of spending money, which seems a lot like just another way to steal money from the guy who isnt smart enough to get past that idea. any help?

There's the OSS program mplayer, with it's GUI, gmplayer. That's a functioning DVD player, I'm fairly sure.

the truth shall never prevail, and i have dvd power 4, it came with my computer, they even managed to package two when i bought, and i dont like the idea of having to hunt down certain buttons. it seems rude to force the customer to have to look for a simple button, whatever it may be, i cant remember, but it DID ruin my day. i was forced to take a long nap, because im too lazy to hunt for a solution.

i dont suppose there was a manual or a 'help' button? or tap on 'f1' may have been helpful
