Updated LiVES guide

Post by shumira_chan » Wed Aug 04, 2004 11:11 pm

LiVES is a video editing system originally made for Linux,
although it currently works on various unix flavours. A new
version has recently been released and so I have updated
the guide (which has an AMV-making slant):

http://amv.reimeika.ca/lives/lives_guide.html

It's still a rather primitive program, but fun to work on.
New with this release is the ability to call "desub.py"
(simple de-subbing utility I wrote) from within LiVES,
as well as my multi_encoder plugin which allows creating
various types of MPG/OGM/MKV files. Batch-encoding
is also possible as LiVES files can be encoded from
the command line e.g.

ogm_encoder.py -L amv.lv1 -o amv.ogm

will create a Vorbis/MPEG-4 OGM movie from amv.lv1.
Syntax for creating MPG and MKV (Matroska) files is
identical (using the proper encoder, and of course having
the necessary libs/tools installed).

Anyway, I hope this is helpful. You can see the videos I've
made with LIVES at:

Have a nice day :)
