Codec downloads?

Post by odin_mage » Mon May 24, 2004 4:09 am

Where is some codec software that's free and that isn't supported by ads, if such a thing exists. I have DivX right now and my brohter doesn't like the Gain pop-ups. Anything else that is good enough for the file types on this site?

??? :?
DivX exists with no Ad.
You don't have to use DivX pro to watch videos, just download the "Standard Divx Codec" that can be found on http://www.DivX.com. It has no advertisment included
http://download.divx.com/divx/DivX511.exe

You can also download XviD

I think I remember using the standard version and then my videos didn't work, most of them anyway. Is Xvid any better?

If all you want to do is decoding, I suggest you get this:
http://ffdshow.sourceforge.net/
