Making an avs text document problem.

Post by Apeotheosis » Thu Apr 29, 2004 12:24 pm

Alright, I've gotten most of it down ^_^ It's getting easy to edit now. But now I have another question about compressing and stuff. Alright, I have it in AVI form. I've made a text document that had the line:

AVISource("C:\Chaos in a marble.avi")

I renamed the document as:

chaosinamarble.avs.txt

And it won't open in either VirtualDub and Windows Media player! I don't get it at all. Can you help me out?

That's because you gave it the .txt extension. It needs the .avs extension, or it won't play.

Make sure to save in Notepad with the file type set to "All Files" instead of "Text Document".

Alright, I'll give it a try. But I DID put avs on there. Hm...I guess it still saved it as a text. I'll try again.

are you editing in premiere, or what? If so, you may have "Fields" set to on in the "Keyframe and Rendering Section".

Also are you deinterlacing the finished video or were you deinterlacing before the video was made?

Script:

chaosinamarble.avs

I'm using premiere - yes. And I will check the rendering right now.

No - this isn't the finished product, it's just a piece so I could familiarize myself with the program (virtualdub).
