Adobe Premiere 6.0....wide screen problem

That may work if the reason the black bars are showing up is because Premiere is adding them because of the maintain aspect ratio option. Most likely there would still be some black bar left even after that due to DVDs not being able to perfectly crop their source(letterbox must conform to 16:9). Try Alpha Channel, but use the garbage matte if anything is left.
