I hate getting new codecs.
Ask me about my secret stash of videos that can't be found anywhere anymore.

It is Indeo 5.0. And any modern Windows installation should have it already installed, at least for decoding.

My computer has Windows XP Home Edition. It was very recently installed. I still can't watch the damn video. Indeo no longer offers what I need.

Fucknuts.

Eh, I managed to get a free codec from someone who went under the noses of those evil Ligos bastards.

Thank you, moviecodec.com!

This is Windows XP Professional, and nothing Indeo-related was ever installed on this machine.

So, either the Home Edition is more lobotomized than I thought, or your machine is massively fux0r3d.

Either way, at least it works now.

From the Indeo site:
With the September 2002 update to Windows XP (known as Service Pack 1), Microsoft suspended distribution of the Indeo codecs as a base part of its operating system. This only affects users with new PCs that are shipping with Windows XP Service Pack 1, or clean installs of Windows XP SP1 on an older system. Unfortunately, a number of game and multimedia titles require Indeo to be installed on the OS in order to function.

IVI 5 is nothing new; it is a fairly clean Codec for 8 & 16 bit colors - but not for anything beyond that!

the IVI 4.1 was more useful and was reversable ( could play it backward as freely as forwards )

but . . this Codec is dated in its use ~_~ . . Win95 design! 480 X 360 Max Size.

I meant new to my computer, not new to the world.

The video looked like crap, BTW. Very noisy. Even worse than XviD in terms of noise.
