What are some good video editing software?

I've been using Vegas Video for years. Vegas Video 4 is out though.
Pretty good and easy program alas...Heard Sonic Foundryss gonna sell this one, most probably no more upgrades beyond VV4 ...hope it isn't true.

If you have no footage, what are you doing in Windows Movie Maker? Making a slideshow to music?

There is no ppoint in importing footage in WMM2 if I can not even use a singel special effect or transition.

Special effects and transitions do not a good video make. Alot to learn have you young padawan.

God, I have 512 DDR and it's still uber slow. I'd suggest at least a gig.

Special effects and transitions may not make the video good, but they do help, and show how much of n effort a person puts in the video, If used wisely. And i have 256 ram, so I won't upgrade now with out any practice in making amvs. That is just a little dumb. After I make a few vids and am dedicated then I will upgrade. ALso My other computer that is 2.0 ghz and 256 ram is able to use WMM2 fine. I can look at every transition and video effect. But this cpu is not mine so i can't use it. I just wanted to see if it worked.
