help with ogm's

Post by chiio » Fri Dec 23, 2005 9:04 pm

i just wanted to ask if anyone knew if there was a free video converter that can accept ogm files. I'm really getting tired of using virtualdub to change my file formats cause when i do it takes up most of the space in my comp when i save the new file. So it would really be helpful if there was a free converter that could handle the ogm files.

VirtualDubMod. Use Direct Stream Copy mode next time. That just copies the video stream to an AVI without modifying any data whatsoever, so you'll get a file that's not much larger than the OGM you saved it from. If the audio is still in there and is Vorbis (which is the default for OGM) instead of MP3, you may have to do some wrangling because AVI doesn't like Vorbis, but otherwise it should be fine.
