Premiere problem? (

a while ago i used to use premiere and every time i built a preveiw, it wouldnt take long, but now it takes like 2 seconds a frame.
i think maybe something in the options? i dont know
any help please?

render speeds depends on the length of the clip your rendering, format and resolution of the render (a 640x480 clip takes alot longer to render than a 320x240 clip) and the type of source footage (vob files take fuck ages in comparison to everything els). effects also take more time to render than a standard image. oh and, make sure your not runing any other applications whie rendering.

im using .dat files, renamed as .mpg files
do you think thats why?

hmmm, could be. try converting them to huffyuv avi or divx (with a small max keyframe, 100 is good) if ya wana bait and switch. have you Read <a href=http://www.a-m-v.org/guides/avtech31/>ErMaC & AbsoluteDestiny's Friendly AMV Guides</a> ?
