I thought you were looking for a replacement for soft windows, my mistake.
To answer your question, an iMac will run all the software an older PowerMac can so from a software standpoint you gain nothing by using the older machine. A PowerMac is more expandable than an iMac, but I doubt this is worthwhile if the PowerMac is as old as you imply. If you give me a model number I could get a better idea.

I know already about that....I do not care about what my IMAC is capable of doing I only care about what I can get the older computer to do...I was regressing to go back and use the old power mac that the IMAC replaced, I should have total custody of it by spring. and as I said a POWER MAC is NOT a VIRTUAL PC.
I am looking for a update of the soft windows program that had been installed on my old POWER MACINTOSH Computer, or any other type of software that would allow the mac to use a windows program.....

Still too Confused about Imac movie making software
Im back everyone.
College has kept me away from anything but my studies for the last few months but now I have some time to ask more questions.
That old powermac will be in my room some time next month. It was bought back in 95 or 98 somewhere around there and was a new model at the time. I imagine it could be between OS3 and OS7. I can't remember and can never find time to check it. The first question had been If there was a program for that mac to allow to make videos.
About the Imac we resently upgraded the system to Jaguar and for some reason the system preference file says that it has a DVD player, yet I can not get it to play any DVDs. It ejects them. Is there any program for the Imac so that I don't need to have to worry about this little problem. Or does anyone know what to do with the problem.
I am getting bored and have more free time, though still at college I can play with the compy more. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
