Video capture

Post by jonmartensen » Wed Jan 15, 2003 7:38 pm

I want to record video from one of my computer games. I know how one could capture video from an outside source like a PS2 but how could I go about recording a game that is on my computer?

This should be pretty easy, but I haven't exactly been successful in doin' it yet.. eh heh. :?

In theory, though:

1) Insert the game disc into ur cd drive.

2) "Explore" the disc.

3) Take whatever video files you want and copy n' paste to a folder.

I haven't been able to find any movie files from my games yet.. but this should work.. I think that the file extensions aren't really .avi, but more likely something else.

I only know about rippin' PS1 gamez, so sorry if this doesn't help. :(

Really, what I wanted was capture of in-game play, not pre-rendered files. That's what has me confuzzled over how to get the footage.

You could always use the TV ouput function on your video card(if it has it) to ouput to a VCR, then pipe it back in via a capture card.
