Good Capturing Programs?

Post by devilmaykickass » Sun Aug 31, 2008 11:22 am

I have an old crappy ATI TV WONDER that isn't very versatile but it gets the job done, and I did have a program awhile back that captured beautifully, but now I can't find it. I'm currently using PowerVCR II, which is good, but I can't get it to NOT FREAKING BLEND THE FIELDS TOGETHER. And the ATI software for the card doesn't allow you to capture at vertical resolutions over 240 pixels, so it's useless too.

So does anyone know of a capturing program that can cap at DVD resolution without ghosting the crap out it?

Not sure if this helps (and I don't use this), but there seems to be a Linux based solution which can run at S-VHS:
http://gatos.sourceforge.net/
http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=a ... =806&num=1

Once km is up you should be able to use ffmpeg for the actual capture:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffmpeg

Thanks for replying. I actually found the program I was referring to that I previously used. It's called DScaler and it still works like a charm. :P
