I want to get the FMVs from the game, and I've got my hands on the ISO for the UMD, but I don't know where to go from there.

Help?

you mean teh psp iso. well if you can find the pmf files anywhere in teh iso then you can simply use codecs on your pc to decode them using directshow. you can search for psp pmf codecs on the internet. i don't have the name on the top of me head.

if you can't find the pmf files, i don't think i can be of much help here but to ask you to scan the iso using some generic media searching program.

I downloaded two of those ISO extracting programs, but neither of them search for pmf files. So I know they're in there, I just don't have the right program.

Nova Extractor is what I've been suggested, but the version I have doesn't search for pmf files either. Is there an update or plugin I need? I can't tell since their website is in another language. XD

mount the iso you have using daemon tools or any other image mounting program. now search for *.pmf files using windows search

. If that does not help, then you may try Extractor 2.4, as this program has really helped me at times.

If not then you're in for a halt, sorry pal.

1.)use nova extractor to search the iso for mpg files.

2.)when it locates the mpg files, rename there extensions to from mpg to.pmf and extract them to your pc.

3.)download and install this:

4.)open the program, press the "select" button on the psp layout, and select and a .pmf file. Click open.

5.) Wait

6.)navigate to C:\Program Files\Landesoft and you can find your converted avi file in there.

Well, there were no .pmf or .mpg files, but I did find some files that might be it.

Most likely: moviepac.dat is the second biggest file there other than one called PSPVAL1.pfs, which I assume is the game itself. There were also some files with a .prx extension that looked promising: mpeg.prx, mpegbase.prx, videocodec.prx, sc_sascore.prx, psmf.prx.

That didn't work... HOWEVER!! After hours of research I figured it out. I'll post the steps here for anyone else who may find this thread helpful:

- Obtain your ISO. There are many ways to do this. Do it yourself or [redacted].

- Use Daemon Tools to view the contents of the ISO. Find moviepac.dat and drag it to your desktop (or anywhere else).

- Now you will need a program to extract the .pmf videos from the .dat. Download it directly here,
or indirectly here. (post #79, you'll have to register to download).

- Open the program (if it doesn't work, get ver. 2 of the .NET framework. Google it), open your moviepac.dat, and hit extract.

- This should put a folder wherever your moviepac.dat is, or on the desktop. Open it up, and it should have 74 files. They might be .pmf, or they might not have an extension. If it is the latter, just change the extensions to .pmf. You may want to do this after the next step, as it's very tedious.

- Download Lande's PMF Player and install it. Click select on the interface and find your .pmf files (this is when you should rename them). After the video loads, which may take awhile, hit the X button to view the video.

- After doing this, go to C:\Program Files\Landesoft and in there is a file called test.avi. That's your video! They're big files, but the resolution is still just the size of the PSP screen. Make sure you rename/move the video somewhere else, or it may get overwritten by the next clip

And you're done! I hope to see some good VP AMVs.[/url]
