Ripping software recommendation?

Has anyone tried these ripping programs? Opinions on which is better?

I think the free version of DVDfab HD Decrypter is the de facto standard atm.

For Windows and/or Linux

MacTheRipper 3.0 (YOSHI) build 14 for my fellow Mac-users
