CDex is a great program. But I'm curious about something. Will your CD play in a regular CD player? Is it protected, or is it actually some weird format that a computer won't even read? Being an in-store sampler, this might be a possibility, I guess it depends on how it was played in the store. Just a thought.
It plays on regular CD players with no problem and it is protected. How do I get CDex?

Download it from - http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/

Once installed, start up the program then insert the CD just like 808-buma had suggested. There will be buttons on the right side that will start the ripping process, just mouse-over them to see what they all do. Or pull down the Convert menu and choose an option there. Good luck, hope it works for you.

The copy protection on most cd's is completely pathetic.. really, they only stop you from ripping onto an xbox, and even then it dosn't work that well..

basically when you first put in the cd it auto launches and installs a driver (without telling you, ala spyware..) so that it can't read the tracks. the driver is the same for all the copy protected cd's.

holding shift will stop the cd from auto loading, and opening the command prompt and typing in:

net stop sbcphid
del %systemroot%\system32\drivers\sbcphid.sys

will delete the driver that they install. ; )
