HELP! capturing off digital cam via USB

Post by AznRAVEr1022 » Mon May 05, 2003 10:24 pm

alright, i got a sony digital camera with some footage on it and some software that came with it. in order to capture, it uses a USB connections. So after everything was set up, i tried to capture, but it came out dropping about 80% of the frames. is there something im not doing right? do i need a firewire card or ATI jiggy or what? (8mm tapes)

Are you using USB 1 or 2? I believe 1 is considerably slower than 2, so if you're using 1 that could be your problem. You might also check and see if the capture program you're using (assuming it is software designed to link up with the camera) has a frame sync option... I know my old capture card had something like this that had to be run every so often...
