Does anyone know of a really good application (free or purchace) that will "help you easily set up your monitor better for digital editing?"
Basically I'm looking for a color management program like Adobe Gamma, as outlined in Nicky Pages' Digital Solutions (http://nickyguides.digital-digest.com/gamma-setup.htm).
I don't have it so I'm wondering what you all use - which we all should be since we are doing video!!

For my tv I just use the colorbars and adjust off that (yes, I know how to use them!). for the monitor, I really don't know, and never cared. I just adjusted the hue/brightness/contrast to comfortable levels since anytime I show someone something it's on it's intended medium, AKA: the TV. I do remember a product called 3Deep that was a monitor calibration tool for gaming. I didn't like the settings though (too bright. I sit too close to my monitor as it is, no need to kill my eyes more) and it's possible that it can be used for general calibration as well. If a photoshop demo is available, install that. Chances are it'll install the adobe gamma loader with it
