This is my last attempt to try and hope I can fix my sound card.
Here is the whole story, sorry to link it, but I need to post it quickly, in class =P.

If anyone has any more suggestions please post, I do have a Audigy lined up for $15 + shipping, but I just want to make sure something else is not going wrong here.
Thanks in advance.

Well, I'm not the greatest at Mobo troubleshooting, but after reading through your message thread I do have a couple of ideas.
Concerning the respones you got from troubleshooting (response #6), jumpers usually refer to those small, black, plastic things that you can use to connect pins on a Mobo or a disk drive. I'm sure you've seen on the back of a HDD that has the small metal pins that say something like "Master", "Slave", or "Cable Select". Should be similar for your audio settings, and they're probably located near the audio ports inside your case. Try looking up "Audio Jumper Settings" or just "Jumper Settings" in your manual.
Have you gone into Control Panel/Sounds and Audio Devices to check your settings there? Worth looking at if you haven't already. Make sure you've got the right sound device selected for playback. If it's not showing any to choose from, or has something like the Modem Line selected, then I suspect something is wrong with your drivers, even though you've already reinstalled them. Good luck.

Alright, I'll look for the jumper settings near the Sound ports, but I havn't changed anyhing there (unless a jumper fell out maybe?) i already orderd a audigy from a friend (including shippin) so that's a nice deal i think.
i did however already do the control panel settings like make sure it was the right device selected which it was.
thx for your time and suggestions =D

I doubt a jumper would've just fallen out, they actually tend to be rather stubborn when your trying to remove them. It's more likely there wasn't one there to begin with. Thus, the problem some people (including you) have been having with that sound card. Good luck though, hope your new card works out.
