DIMM slots
When a Motherboard specification says: "Support 2 DIMM up to 2GB Max." Does that mean the total limit is 2GBs or each stick can be up to 2GB?

The maximum is for the motherboard as a whole; you'll see "3 DIMM, 3GB max" occasionally, and obviously 3GB isn't a power of 2. I'm not certain there exist many consumer boards that can address more than 1GB per DIMM.
