Anyone make AMVs or other video projects using a Laptop?

Post by Anime_Cowboy35 » Mon Sep 06, 2004 9:04 pm

I'm considering buying a Laptop within the next year or so, but I want to be able to make AnimeMusicVideos on it. I was wondering if anyone either a) Makes AMVs using a Laptop, and can give me some suggestions on which company I should go with (or) b) Has any suggestions period about what I should keep my eyes open for?

hmm i do make amvs on a laptop but mine is comepletly custom made

i have never actually finished a render in the machine because i dont think it can realli render quickly so i just use my desktop to render, but for editing vegas 4 works fine on it amazingly because vegas likes to take processor power as well as ram -_-;;

but im running a
1.7ghz centrino
512mb 2700 ddr ram
40gb 7200rpm hd + external 200gb firewire hd
dvd/cr-rw combo drive

im not too sure on whether or not the laptop is capable to bringing out things like after fx projects because last time i tried it took a while for 500 frames to render >_<

but a laptop isnt a desktop, so there is the power difference, but what is the difference is that if u get a normal p4 ure battery wont last very long 2hrs max, even lower if ure going have high processor use such as rendering

could you tell how your's is custom made? and yes, there is a difference between a laptop and a desktop because a laptop doesn't have as good cooling as a desktop, resulting in a performance drop due to overheating. The centrino was made to help with the heat factor and the poor cooling capabilities of laptops tho, but then again, it might not be up to the extremely large renders.

Well, since new technology is out, you can get a desktop for fairly cheap, but yes, there are quite a few amv makers on the .org who make their videos on a laptop.
