need help on compressing

i need help on compressing my avi file....i tried virtualdubmod but it says "Couldn't locate decompresser for format 'dvsd'.......blah" when i open it so wat should i do to compress my avi

Try the "Open file via AVISynth..." option instead, which writes up a quick AVISynth script that serves the AVI to VDubMod.
