dvd drive giving me problems

ok for a while now my dvd drive has been gay . even more so now i'll put a dvd in and i go to rip footage in dvd decrypter and at the bottom it says " device not ready ( medium not present ) . i dont know what that means , its like theres no dvd in my drive at all. ive cleaned my drvie with a cd,dvd player cleaner .. still nothing . any body know whats wrong , or do i just need a new drive

Your DVD drive probably sucks as much as mine. Mine currently is fritzing out, there is not much more you can do besides getting a decent DVD drive. Lite-On/Pioneer DVD drives are pretty good.

yeah ive bein like that most of my life, its prety good too, you should try it sometime.

ah anyway, is it installed properly ? does the bios detect it ? does windows detect it ?
