If your looking for one card that will use both monitors, in the consumer arena I think Matrox currently holds the monniker of "best multi-monitor card". If your not concerned with the best, a couple companies make Nvidia based cards with multi-monitor support. They should all be comparable to each other as far as options go, as they are all nvidia chips and all adhere basically to the nvidia reference designs (IIRC) find the one with the most memory at the best price, and you'll be set.

Re: best video card for multi-moniter?
I'm running a Nvidia Geforce 4-Ti 4200, a 9 month old card (now $95) and dual monitor support is nice, but slightly overrated.el_farlo wrote:which is the best to get for multi moniter support....

Really, what you should do is keep your current card and just find a PCI video card off eBay and use the two cards. (AGP and PCI, most likely)
Otherwise, if you want just one card, get something like Danny's card and get the little DVI-I to VGA converter off eBay or somewhere and put a VGA CRT monitor on it with a VGA CRT on the DVI-I to VGA-converted DVI input.

If you don't have a bigger monitor already. Get one. Bigger monitor is better than dual monitors. I could never get over having 2x bezels in model of the display. Also there are some hardware/software issues with the way two monitors work. Alot of times there is no hardware overlay on teh 2nd monitor. Then there is the fact that not all programs like to work properly with two monitors or two video cards.
Get a 21" off of ebay :}. I havea Cornerstone P1500 and I couldn't be happier. :p
